The latest addition to its commitment to cutting-edgeresearch and development is the in-house addition of longtime AmeriSciencesproduct development consultant, molecular biologist Carlos Montesinos asAmeriSciences Director of Product Development and Quality Assurance. Aninnovator in the field of product formulation, Carlos is a certifiedpharmaceutical auditor with expertise in domestic and international regulatoryaffairs. In addition to developing products for AmeriSciences, his resume includes the successful registration of products in over 40 countries throughout the world.
Carlos is joined in his research and development by the AmeriSciences Scientific Advisory Board (SAB). Comprised of leading scientists, physicians and innovators, AmeriSciences Scientific Advisory Board ensures that all AmeriSciences products are the best, most effective products on the market today and long into the future. Board members participate in clinical trials, consumer supplement education and product research and development as they work to shift the medical paradigm from sickness and treatment to wellness and prevention.
AmeriSciences’ commitment to quality andsuperior R&D is most clearly seen in its joint research venture with NASA/Johnson Space Center (JSC). Out of a need to provide increased nutritional support for long-duration space flight, NASA/JSC has spent the last several years compiling scientific data on the basis of an astronaut-specific multivitamin formulation. In late 2005, AmeriSciences entered into a Space ActAgreement with NASA/JSC to develop several nutritional products: a completemultivitamin regimen for general astronaut health and a specialized supplemental vitamin for in-flight nutritional needs. The Space Act Agreement includes the co-development of the formulations as well as shared responsibilities for extensive product testing, participation in project reports and identification and assessment of related technologies.
THE AMERISCIENCES SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY BOARD (SAB)
It is the goal of AmeriSciences to maintain the highest quality and most effective products inthe Nutritional Supplement and Nutraceutical industries. The AmeriSciences’Scientific Advisory Board has been charged with the responsibility of seeing that this goal is achieved and surpassed.
Comprised of leaders and innovators in the medical, wellness, and scientific communities, the AmeriSciences® Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) ensures that all AmeriSciences products are the best in the market today and long into the future. Byparticipating in manufacturing standards, research and development, and clinical trials, the SAB members are the first in the industry to truly make a difference in consumer products. However, AmeriSciences Scientific Advisory Board encompasses more than just leadership in research and development. Through consumer interaction, communication, and education, its members will revolutionize how individuals perceive and eventually achieve their mental and physical well-being.
The following are members of the AmeriSciences Scientific Advisory Board:
AMERISCIENCES and NASA
NASA has agreed with AmeriSciences® to participate in a joint venture with NASA scientists to develop and test nutritional supplements intended for astronauts to use during earth-bound conditioning and in-flight physical maintenance. The Space Act Agreement between NASA and AmeriSciences sets the stage for thedevelopment of two products: a complete multivitamin regimen for general astronaut health and a specialized supplemental vitamin for in-flightnutritional needs.
Out of aneed for providing increased nutritional support for long duration spaceflight, NASA has spent the last couple of years compiling scientific data onthe basis of an astronaut-specific multivitamin formulation, with similarities to the AmeriSciences Men’s Master-Multi formulation.
The SpaceAct Agreement sets forth both short-term and long-term objectives for both parties. These include not only the co-development of the supplement formulations, but shared responsibilities for extensive product testing, participation in project reports, identification and assessment of related technologies, and participation in demonstrations and other activities ofmutual interest.
“Combining the expertise of AmeriSciences and NASA todevelop products that meet the extreme needs of the astronauts will truly set anew standard in supplementation. We are proud to be a part of this importantproject.”
-Lou Gallardo, Chairman of AmeriSciences
